MINUTES OF THE
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
ASPEN HILL CIVIC
ASSOCIATION, INC.
October 20, 2010
The meeting
was called to order by the President Alexandra Minckler at 7:35 PM at the Aspen
Hill Library.
Nominations
and the election of the Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 year were
supervised by David Polinsky. The
following people were nominated and unanimously elected to the Board of
Directors.

Don Becker, Mr. Robert Clarke, Ms. Sharon Dean, Mr. Don Eimer, Ms. Marguerite
Eimer, Ms. Rusty Embrey, Ms.
Alexandra Minckler, Ms. Carol Petzold, Mr. David Polinsky, Ms. Florence
Polinsky, Ms. Linda Robbins, Mr. Bill Shelton, and Ms. Patricia Walker.
A brief
discussion of proposed improvements to the code enforcement legislation, ZTA
09-03, took place with Alexandra Minkler, Sharon Dean, Don Becker and Linda
Robbins exhorting those present to contact county council members by email and
phone in support, as well as attending the council hearing to be held October
26 at 11:00 AM in the county office building. It was mentioned that the Aspen Hill Civic Association had
joined with the Georgia Avenue Coalition [including the Connecticut Avenue
Estates Civic Association, the Glenmont Forest Neighbors Civic Association, the
Greater Glenmont Civic Association and the Wheaton Regional Park Neighbors
Association] in support.
Don Becker
took a survey of the 66 persons attending the meeting to see how many had
learned of the meeting from the signs the association recently purchased. Ten persons responded in the affirmative.
Mike
Krumlauf, Program Specialist II of the Montgomery County Solid Waste Services
spoke briefly about the currently acceptable methods for disposal of yard waste
and then responded to questions from the audience. He indicated that the 2010
leaf collection period would run from 8 November through 24 November.
The meeting
was adjourned at 8:05 PM.
