The AHCA continues to work on providing resources to newcomers relocating to Montgomery County, MD and to the Aspen Hill Community. There are a multitude of informational resources available through several informational outlets. The resources listed on this web page are specifically for newcomers and current community residents may also find it helpful as well. 

The MontgomeryCountyMD.GOV web site is an excellent resource for newcomers and current community residents.

Interpretation Services & Translation Assistance

Customers who prefer to conduct business with Montgomery County in a language other than English can request translation assistance. The MC311 Customer Service Center offers a language interpretation service with over 150 languages available. After calling 311, press 2, for Spanish, or stay on the line to ask the next available customer service Representative to request to conduct the call in the language of your choice. Our translation service will be made available to you.

The Bauer Drive Community Recreation Center is located near the intersection of Bauer Dr. and Norbeck Rd. (Rt. 28) in the Aspen Hill community, a 10.5-square-mile unincorporated area that straddles parts of Rockville, Silver Spring and Wheaton.

With more than 18,000 homes in the community – a third with children under the age of 18 and nearly a tenth with senior citizens – the Bauer Drive Center offers programs and services for all age groups. The activities and experiences provided at the center encourage better health, physical fitness, learning and growth, with plenty of opportunities for socialization and fun. The center's outdoor facilities include a playground and courts lined for tennis and pickleball, as well as fields for football and soccer.

Know Your County is a guide to government in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is produced to offer the residents a greater understanding of the functioning of local government and the array of services it provides. This guide gives clear concise descriptions and contact information for government departments and agencies in Montgomery County.

Know Your County is the result of a collaboration between business (Discovery Communications, Inc. and Host Hotels & Resorts), government (The Offices of the County Executive, Office of Community Partnerships), and a private, non profit organization (The League of Women Voters and its Citizen Education Fund).

For more than 200 years, the community has been central to life in Montgomery County. The communities and neighborhoods constantly work together to better themselves and each contributes to making Montgomery County a great place in which to live, work and play.

Every community in Montgomery County is unique, although many share similar characteristics. Bethesda, Silver Spring, Kensington and Wheaton hustle with busy downtown activity, while Olney, Poolesville, Darnestown and others offer small town charm in quiet rural settings. Rockville, the county seat, has a charming residential historic district that blends nicely into the growing business and retail district.
